  • Important notice for candidates : There is still plenty of time before the application deadline, but we would like to draw the attention of potential candidates on the fact that your academic institution of origin may also be part of the candidates selection process. Its exact role differs from one institution to the other, and it is therefore hard for FCPPL to provide you with details on this specific issue, but we strongly advise potential candidates to QUICKLY get in touch with their academic administration, inform them that you wish to apply to a CSC grant in 2012, and ask what should be done to get the institution approval for this.

  • For candidates coming from Universities: please note that your University is awarded a fixed and limited number of grants by CSC. Your university will therefore establish its own list of candidates which will be transfered to CSC. This is usually done in December or January. Your name has to be on this list in order to get a grant! Unfortunatly the procedure to establish this list differs from one University to the other. We therefore strongly suggest that you contact your own university administration in order to get valid information. This procedure do not apply to candidates from CAS institutes (including USTC).

The FCPPL - CSC program proposes either 3-year grants for full PhD in France, or 6- to 24-month grants for students who are already registered as PhD students in China. Grants are around 1000 euros/month and the annual flight ticket is included.

The selection procedure follows two steps: - First the FCPPL Steering Committee will preselect students who apply to a French lab member of FCPPL.

- The CSC will then evaluate the listed candidates according to CSC requirements and priorities, and will provide FCPPL with a final list of scholarship recipients and also inform the successful candidates in May 2009. Details on this second step will be soon given on the CSC web page.

Candidates have to download the FCPPL_CSC_Application.doc file, fill the form and upload it to the FCPPL web site before February 16th, 2009.
