APP_01 : The Geant4-DNA project at the Physics-Biology frontier

Summary :
 The Bio2 projects encompasses modeling and experimental interdisciplinary activities. Both Japan and French teams are involved in the Geant4-DNA project aiming at extending the Geant4 Monte Carlo toolkit for the modeling of early biological effects of ionising radiation at the DNA scale. In 2014, the physics models of Geant4-DNA have all been deployed to GPGPU allowing to reach impressive performance (> 200 speed gain). Two papers have been submitted for publication. In 2015, the porting of new physics models for the simulation of electrons in liquid water is on-going. In the near future, we expect to start the porting of Geant4-DNA physicochemical and chemical processes to GPGPU.
