The French host laboratories are already strongly involved in joint projects with Japan. They will welcome and support Japanese physicists working at CERN in particular for LHC or at other French facilities. They will invite, on their own budget Japanese researchers for long term stay. Phd student and post-docs will be exchanged between the partners countries.

• LAPP (Annecy),
• LLR (Palaiseau)
• LPNHE (PARIS),
• LAL (Orsay),
• DAPNIA (Saclay),
• KEK (Tsukuba).

The access to experimental, R&D and test facilities for Researchers, engineers and technicians will be mitigated by this structure and Franco-Japanese research visibility largely improved.

Research projects will be selected by a bilateral steering committee among proposals submitted by the researchers.

7 Main scientific topics have been selected:

• Detector R&D (ILC, B-Physics, ...)
• LHC (support to Japanese working at CERN, Grid)
• B-Physics and super B factory
• Neutrino Physics (T2K , Opera, ...)
• Simulation, Event generators and data Analysis
• Computing (GRID, Geant4, High precision numerical computation, Lattice Data Grid)
• ILC accelerator R&D

Project presentation

The French and Japanese researchers are involved in several common particle physics projects including ILC, LHC, neutrinos and B physics, computing. Experimental, R&D and test facilities are available both in Japan and in France motivating short and medium term stay in the partner country.
