FCPPL-CSC PhD grant application for 2012
The FCPPL - CSC agreement provides either a 3-year grant for full
PhD in France, or a 6- to 24-month grants for students wishing to prepare part of their thesis in France (so-called sandwich thesis). Grants are allocated by the
China Scholarship Council and are around 1200 euros/month + 1 return flight ticket.
The selection procedure is the following:
1. First the
FCPPL Steering Committee will preselect students who apply for a stay in a French lab member of FCPPL. Candidates have to download the
application form and fill it in. The applicant 's tutor in France also has to fill in the
FCPPL PhD commitment and sign it together with the applicant. Both files have to be sent by email to
omartino@in2p3.fr before February 10, 2012.
2. If the FCPPL steering committee validates the candidate's application, then the candidate has to
proceed with the application to CSC. This second step will take place between February 20 and March 10, 2012. Details on the CSC application procedure will be available soon on this web page. CSC will evaluate the preselected candidates according to its own requirements and priorities, and will inform the successful candidates in May or June 2012.
- please note that your University is awarded a fixed and limited number of grants by CSC. Your university will therefore establish its own list of candidates which will be transfered to CSC. This is usually done in December or January. CSC will only evaluate candidates with their name on this list! Unfortunatly the procedure to establish this list differs from one University to the other. We therefore strongly suggest that you contact your own university administration in order to get valid information and make sure that you will be considered as an applicant to a CSC grant by your university.
- candidates to a 6 to 24 months stay in France have to be considered as PhD students at the time of application. This can be done by providing CSC with the 在 读证明 (Zai Du Zheng Ming) obtained from the University's administration.
