Project presentation
The France-China Particle Physics Laboratory has been created on April 10th, 2007 in order to support to the existing collaborations and offer a frame to favor new partnerships.
The agreement has been signed by:
- Catherine BRECHIGNAC and Arnold MIGUS (CNRS)
- Alain BUGAT (CEA)
- LU Yongxiang (CAS)
- OU Jinping (Dalian University of Technology)
- MA Ming (Huazhong Normal University:
- CHEN Jun (Nanjing University)
- XU Zhihong (Peking university)
- ZHAN Tao (Shandong university)
- GU Binglin (Tsinghua University)
Universities of Aix-Marseille 2, Lyon 1 and Paris-Sud 11 are also partners and gave a mandate to CNRS for signature.
The structure is intended to promote long-term collaboration projects and give higher visibility to the joint activities. The budget is devoted to travel expenses. The Laboratory is run by two co-directors, one Chinese, one French, and by a steering committee with representatives of universities and institutes involved in the LIA (8 representatives from each country). The funding of the LIA can be viewed as seed-money to foster collaborations between the two countries. It is understood that, under the scrutiny of the steering committee, the projects sponsored by the LIA, besides exploratory proposals, should get, independently, appropriate funding inline with their actual execution.
