*The !TYL-FJPPL annual call for applications to fund staff exchanges on joint activities 2019* !TYL-FJPPL calls for proposals of joint projects between France and Japan. Under this funding application, staff exchanges between French and Japanese teams are supported to enhance the development of their joint research. Collaborative activities endorsed by the !TYL-FJPPL should be led jointly by a French PI and a Japanese PI on a research subject within the main areas of research pursued by !IN2P3, IRFU and KEK. At least one of the PIs must belong to one of these institutes. Financial support will be decided upon evaluation. The French members of the teams eligible for the support must belong to !IN2P3 and its affiliated universities or IRFU. The Japanese members could be from KEK or from other Japanese institutes. Both emerging activities and new initiatives within existing projects can be supported. Projects can be resubmitted at most three times. When re-submitted, a report on the activities in the elapsed year must be provided. If two teams wish to continue their collaboration beyond four years, they should submit a new proposal, with a new title and an evolution in the content, as well as new leaders. Participation of young staff and students is encouraged. Proposals and reports from the past year should also be presented at the Joint !TYL-FJPPL/FKPPL meeting in May 2019. Please be aware that funding from the !TYL-FJPPL is only intended to support the additional cost of cooperating with the partner team in France/Japan, not the basic needs of the research program. The provided funds can be used for mutual visits and the organization of joint workshops, possibly also to cover transport of equipment needed to pursue joint activities, but not to buy equipment or consumables, or for maintenance of repairs. The requested amounts should be justified in terms of reasonable (and, depending on the project, balanced) levels of exchange between the two teams towards achieving their goals. An application without budget requests is also acceptable and even appreciated given the limited funding of !TYL-FJPPL. Members of the !TYL-FJPPL projects are eligible for being nominated for the !TYL-FJPPL Young Investigator Award as well as for the support under the !TYL-FJPPL Early Stage Researcher Secondment: see [[http://fjppl.in2p3.fr/cgi-bin/twiki.source/bin/view/FJPPL/FJPPLStudents][HERE]].
